How do you start?
What platforms do you use?
What software do you need?
To help you get started, we’ve answered some of your top social media questions below.
What Social Media Platforms Should Dentists Be Present On?
There are a lot of social media platforms that exist such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. At the end of the day, you should only be present on the platforms you have time to be present on. Don’t try to be on all of them if you don’t have time to create and post content on all of them regularly. If we had to recommend the platforms you should absolutely be on, it would be Facebook and Instagram.
What Should My Dental Office Post on Social Media?
There are tons of things you can post on your social media. For starters, you can post before and after photos, testimonials, office announcements, and photos from around the office. If you need more ideas, we have a pre-filled social media calendar with 365 ideas (one for every day of the year!). Download it for free to get started.
How Often Should I Post on Social Media?
There isn’t a magic number for how much you should post on social media. It’s better to post amazing content less frequently than just okay content every day. The best frequency for you depends on how much time you have. At the very least, we recommend posting 3 times per week which is the frequency we offer with our Social Media Plus package.
How Does My Dental Office Get More Followers on Social Media?
There’s no perfect formula for growing your followers on social media. It’s a combined effort of personally asking your patients to follow you on social media paired with producing good content, using correct hashtags, engaging with other accounts, and using social ads. If you’re looking for a strategy to help increase your followers, we encourage you to sign up for our Social Media Pro or Premiere packages.
How Should We Respond To Negative Comments?
If you receive a negative comment on social media, feel free to delete it. If someone wrote you a negative review on Facebook though, there is no way to delete it. In this case, respond by stating facts and offering to make things right with the reviewer. If you’re the type to respond with your emotions, wait until you’ve cooled down until you respond.
Can I Schedule Social Media Posts Ahead of Time?
Yes! There are a lot of different social media scheduling options on the market now. If you want to go the free route, Facebook’s Creator Studio offers unlimited scheduling of Facebook and Instagram posts. There are a few other free options out there but they usually have a cap on how many posts you can schedule per month.
If you want to manage all of your social media scheduling across multiple platforms in one place, we recommend signing up for one of our social media packages. Not only do we post content for you, but you get access to our exclusive social media scheduling platform.
Where Do I Get Social Media Content?
Unfortunately, you can’t just go to Google and save random images to post on your social media. This can lead to a huge copyright infringement battle that you don’t want to be involved with. There are other options for social media content though. One option is to create your own. This can involve taking photos around your office or using free graphic design apps like Canva or Over to create your own posts. You can also use free stock photos from sites like Unsplash or Pexels.
If you’re not sure how to create your own content or need some help, we offer two options to help you. One, download our free social media content calendar for dentists and get immediate access to several Canva templates. Two, sign up for social media management for dentists and let us create content for you. The choice is yours.
Are Social Ads Worth It?
If you’re searching for the easiest way to reach as many people as possible on social media, social ads are the way to do it. However, you won’t reach your desired audience simply by just giving the platforms money. Social media ads require management from someone who has knowledge of how to produce the best results possible. Social ads are worth it only if someone with the right skills and experience in managing them. If you need help with social media ads, it’s included in our social media marketing packages for dentists.
Which Social Media Platform is Most Popular?
To this date, Facebook is the most popular social media platform. Facebook has 2.8 billion monthly active users. Instagram comes in second with 1.2 monthly average users.
Should My Dental Office Be On TikTok?
TikTok is a very niche market and some dentists have seen great success on the platform. We recommend TikTok if you’re willing to dedicate a lot of time and energy to content creation. TikTok requires out-of-the-box ideas and unique videos to attract users. It’s also important to note that the users on TikTok might not be your desired audience. Users are in their teens and early twenties.
Should Dentists Be On Twitter?
At Pro Impressions Marketing, we don’t recommend Twitter as one of the top platforms to do social media marketing on. The only exception is if you’re a famous dentist with tons of high-profile patients. Tweets have a short lifespan and typically your average dental office won’t get any results from posting content on there.
What Should I Do If I Don’t Have Time To Do Social Media Marketing For My Dental Office?
If nobody in your dental office has time to do social media marketing, don’t sweat it. That’s where we come in to help. We offer three different social media marketing packages to choose from. After you sign up, the only things we will ever need from you are before and after photos and the occasional photos from life inside the office. Aside from that, we will manage everything from content strategy and creation to scheduling posts out and engagement.
